A-JIS puts out a bilingual (English-Japanese) newsletter, the A-JIS
COURIER, for parents/guardians and students. It is published monthly
from September to June, and distributed on or around the 10th of each
month. The newsletter also provides reports on activities deemed to be
of general interest that took place during the preceding one-month
period, and information on upcoming activities during the month ahead.
A-JIS has an active sports program; its sports teams, which include
volleyball, soccer, and basketball teams, are collectively called the
Jaguars; up-to-date results of games with other international schools,
and of the tournaments at the end of each season, are also carried as
they take place. Pieces from the Family Community, Student
Council, and Alumni Association, reporting on activities carried out
and future activities planned, are also prepared and carried in the
A-JIS COURIER. Thus, the A-JIS COURIER keeps parents/guardians and students abreast
of what is happening at A-JIS during each month of the school year,
while information on upcoming activities serves as informal reminders
to complement official notices put out by the school. For the long
term, the readers can also learn about what they can look forward to as
they move up the ladder of grade levels. Complimentary copies of
the A-JIS COURIER are also given to those who visit the Admissions
Office with an eye towards enrolling their children in A-JIS, to
supplement the information on the school they receive when applying for
