Meguro CampusAoba-Japan International School Meguro Campus is located in the heart of Tokyo, just next to a beautiful park.
Our teaching staff is friendly, energetic and caring. The staff, teachers and the children are all familiar with one another providing the school with a very pleasant atmosphere.
Our kindergarten offers a valued educational program. Our students learn through music, experiments, crafts, play, and swimming. They also learn to sit down and study in a classroom situation. It is also important for us that the children appreciate, respect and care for each other.
Kindergarten is the initial education for the children and our school staff work hard so that the students will benefit from their school life. Elizabeth de Souza Principal Meguro Campus | Suginami CampusThe early years of childhood are crucial to educational success. They lay the foundation upon which all else is built. With this in mind, A-JIS`s Kindergarten is a place where young children: - Feel secure
- Enjoy themselves
- Make friends
- Love to Learn
- Our Early Years Programme helps children:
- Discover themselves and become confident about who they are.
- Think in a variety of ways - through reasoning, imagination and intuition.
- Evaluate and explore the world around them.
- Develop socially.
- Acquire the language base necessary for the first years of Elementary School.
- Practice important physical skills.
- Make significant discoveries, through careful observation and focused activities.
Academic and social learning are integrated. As well as developing language, mathematics, cognitive and physical skills, the programme emphasizes social growth, and includes environmental studies, creative arts, music, dramatic and free play. We are very fortunate to have specialized-subject teachers to teach our children Art, Physical Education, Music, Soroban and Japanese. Our teachers utilize a wide range of teaching strategies and within this multi-sensory environment help children discover ways of learning and how they learn best. The early years programme is also designed to catering for every child's particular needs. New activities are regularly introduced and relate to specific themes of inquiry selected to match the interests and abilities of the children. Each theme addresses the core subjects but also offers a wide range of other learning opportunities. Cooperation, creativity, individual initiative and responsibility are encouraged on a daily basis. We believe our Kindergarten Programme offers an ideal preparation and the essential foundation for progression through the Elementary School and beyond. The children who participate in it are carefully: - Observed
- Supported
- Encouraged
- Nurtured
- Exposed to new experiences
- Taught to be curious
- Valued as growing entities
- Prepared for what lies ahead of them in their lives.
